History and development

The company was founded in 1993. From the very beginning, the main business focus has been on the production of custom tools made of solid carbide. WEISSKOPF’s portfolio also includes carbide and PCD-tipped tools.

WEISSKOPF customers comes from industrially oriented sectors such as automotive or mechanical engineering and toolmaking. WEISSKOPF’s clientele also include suppliers in the aerospace industry, medical technology, energy sector or even tool trade.

Creative tool solutions, proximity to the customer, state-of-the-art production technology and the particularly high level of flexibility lay the foundations for WEISSKOPF’s success. At the same time, these are also the reasons for the extraordinarily high level of trust placed in WEISSKOPF products.

By integrating the company into the MAPAL Group in 2012, a strategic decision was made which ideally prepares the company for the future and guarantees customers and employees many years of security and stability. WEISSKOPF currently employees 122 staff. The construction of a new production facility will double the manufacturing capacity at WEISSKOPF. This sets the course for further growth in the MAPAL competence centre in Meiningen.

The company’s philosophy is firmly geared to the wishes and needs of the WEISSKOPF customers. It can be summarised by the following key words.

Quality

WEISSKOPF only supplies the best quality. That is the foundation of the company’s philosophy. All tools are manufactured based on drawings. Each processing step is followed by a quality check. The tools are not shipped until the company’s own strict quality control has been successfully completed. Every employee at WEISSKOPF has made this quality pledge as part of the ISO 9001:2015 certification. Weisskopf Werkzeuge GmbH has also been certified in environmental management with ISO 14001:2015 since 2019.

Flexibility

WEISSKOPF supports its customers from the initial idea to the finished product. The biggest advantage is the flexibility in terms of variety and speed with which tools are manufactured. The company responds promptly to individual customer requests. The delivery time for custom tools is thus usually two to three weeks. WEISSKOPF manufactures both individual pieces and small batches of up to around 300 pieces. Production is carried out exclusively with state-of-the-art technology and current software. Only in this way are we able to produce at the highest level.

Precision and expertise

All tools are manufactured on state-of-the-art machine tools. The production facilities at WEISSKOPF are always state of the art so that the required precision can be achieved. Highly qualified staff in all areas of work also ensure that we keep our product promise. All WEISSKOPF employees are regularly trained in current technical requirements and conditions at internal and external training sessions.

Manufacturing at WEISSKOPF

WEISSKOPF produces all orders on state-of-the-art 5-axis machining centres and CNC grinding machines in fully air-conditioned production facilities. The delivery time for custom tools is usually two to three weeks at WEISSKOPF, and within two working days in particularly urgent cases. The extensive carbide stock on site and the company’s own high-performance coating system also guarantee the high quality of WEISSKOPF products at the highest level.
