Tipped tools are frequently used in the areas of drilling, reaming and milling in applications with special requirements. WEISSKOPF mainly manufactures carbide-tipped custom tools. In some cases, PCD custom tools are also produced.

In principle, these tools have the same function as solid carbide multi-stage tools. However, it may be a good idea, especially with large dimensions, to switch to carbide or PCD-tipped tools as otherwise the costs for such a tool would multiply.
PCD tool are mainly used in machining aluminium. This is where they demonstrate their advantage of an extremely long tool life. In addition, PCD-tipped tools achieve the best possible surfaces on the workpiece.
